S7633 Introduced: A Cost-Effective Battery Urethane

New polyurethane potting system supports battery safety, thermal performance and efficient manufacturing.
Palmyra, WI: Epic Resins, an international formulator and manufacturer of specialty epoxy and polyurethane systems, announces the launch of Epic S7633, a two-component polyurethane. It was designed to provide a cost-effective and reliable solution for electrical and battery potting applications.
S7633 helps manufacturers protect sensitive electrical components while meeting performance, safety, and production requirements. Formulated to attain an RTI above 140°C, the material is well-suited for applications exposed to elevated operating temperatures.
Designed with battery reliability in mind, S7633 offers a combination of low coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) and low glass transition temperature (Tg). This balance helps reduce stress on cells, PCBs and other components during thermal cycling—supporting long-term durability and reducing the risk of failure over the life of the battery.
Key Features & Benefits
- RTI above 140°C: Supports performance in elevated-temperature environments
- UL 94 V-0 flame rating (at 9 mm): Enhances battery safety and regulatory compliance
- Low CTE & low Tg: Minimizes stress during thermal cycling
- Long pot life: Enables superior component impregnation and air release
- 4:1 volumetric mix ratio: Simplifies metering and mixing processes
- RoHS compliant: Supports regulatory and sustainability requirements
